Welcome to the DIY Tips 4U site where hopefully all DIY enthusiasts will find some helpful advice on home improvement or house remodeling projects. I'm not teaching you to become a master builder or encouraging you to never use a tradesman again, but sometimes, small repairs and jobs are within the scope of most people who are able to use the best tool in the box - common sense. Having spent 40 years in the construction industry as a plasterer, a steeplejack, and then as a general building contractor involved in all aspects of the building trade, from building a barbecue to renovating large office blocks, building extensions and general home remodelling projects, I'm now able to pass on some knowledge which you can use with your own home improvements, building maintenance, repairs, property or real estate developments. You'll find some handy DIY tips and "trade  secrets" on plastering, brickwork, tiling, concreting, joinery, painting, pointing and more. You'll also save time and money which is an added bonus as some small jobs can become expensive when hiring outside help. Once a DIY project has been completed, you have a great sense of satisfaction knowing that it's all your own work and your confidence grows so much that you can't wait to start on bigger and more adventurous home improvement projects. Plan carefully and proceed at your own pace. Don't be rushed by others as this will often spoil the finished result. The various trades information has been put into their respective categories but you may find that it appears to be somewhat random in presentation.
